Day 2 Regionals (District 8 Championships.
Another extremely hot day mid 90's again plus add some smoke from the Canadian fires and it just seemed to make it hotter. Once again the Bombers had some heroic performances and some heartbreaks. One of the best marks of the day was the boys 4x100 they go number two all time with a very fast 41.88, they will have a shot at a school record next week. Qualifying meets have that "final" feeling to them. Not all athletes move on to state and for those who come up short have that reality slap them in the face. Ending of things like a track season have a bitter sweet feeling and the promise of doing better next year and working hard to reach goals that may have been cut short. Here are the list of state qualifyers.

Day 1 5/19/23 - Regionals or also called District 8 Championships.
It's basically state qualifying and the 4A schools get three to qualify for state. The weather was very hot mid 90's really too hot for great marks. The meet organizers eliminated prelims in all races due to an undue burden on the athletes. Still, the Bombers had some outstanding performance and several kids moving on to state.

MCC Championships Day 2 - 5/13/23 - Boys win District Championship
Great track meet although is was unseasonably HOT - in the 90's. Still over the course of two days there were some great performances including an official school record. Keenan Stutheit-Kuntz ran 10.47 in the 100m. A close second was Lex Luther who ran the #3 fastest time in school history with a 10.77 effort. Fun Fact-Exactly 30 years to the day at the same meet Keenan's mother Celeste Stutheit set our 100m school record (which still stands) at 11.87. Also, Bomber freshman standout Naly Khamlue-Pratt broke Celeste Stutheit's freshman class 100m record record of 12.19. There were plenty of other great efforts from our Bomber Trackletes -
Seth Shook #8 all-time 110HH with 14.91 PR
Elijah Lynch #4 all-time PV with 14-07 PR
Naly Khamlue-Pratt #3 all-time 100m 12.19 PR

MCC Championships Day 1 5/12/23
Richland Twilight - 5/5/23 -

Senior Night 5/3/23
Great night to honor a bunch of really nice senior athletes. This group of young athletes missed their freshman year due to the Covid Pandemic, the sophomore year was reduces to six meets with no post season, but they did manage two full seasons of track and field and still their accomplishments were many.

MCC #4 - WW/Kennewick/@ Richland - 5/3/23. The last of the league meets before qualifying to state begins. Weather was HOT 85 degrees at meet time. What happened to a nice balmy 70 degree spring day. What's with a north head-wind at Rish Stadium (very rare indeed) it was more of an annoying breeze but not great for the straight races. It was senior night with a nice excitement in the air.
MCC #3 Hanford/Hermiston/@Richland - 4/27/23
Warm and sunny track meet at Fran Rush Stadium. Here come the PR's with a dose of of warm weather.
Warm and sunny track meet at Fran Rush Stadium. Here come the PR's with a dose of of warm weather.
Prosser Invitational - 4/22/23 - Great weather for a change. Sunny mid sixty's and no wind! To prove that point boys had 16 PR's and the girls had 17 PR's. Half of the team were competing at the Oregon Relays at Hayward Field and the rest were at Prosser.
MCC#2 Kamiakin /Richland/ art Southridge - 4/19/23 - W-I-N-D-Y- most always you get a head wind at Southridge. This wind was cold and got worse as the meet went on. Couple of PR's in the field events but it was tough going staight races and homestretch was brutal. The team splits up this Saturday. Some will head to Eugene, OR while the others will go to Prosser.
Pasco Invitational- 4/15/23 - warm sunny and no wind (what a difference from last year).
Lots of personal bests, lots of activity on the all time top 10 lists, and a school record with an automatic time. First of all Keenan Kuntz ran the fasted 200m automatic time for a new school record 21.62 Seth Shook went #8 at 15.00 in the 110HH, Elijah Lynch went #4 with a 14-06 in the Pole Vault, boys 4x100 Relay went #3 at 42.53 (Seth Shook, Lex Luther, Ethan Childs, Keenan Kuntz). The girls saw Naly Khamlue-Pratt (freshman) go 12.50 in the 100m for #6 all time, Allyssa Marsh 25.44 in the 200m for #4, Bailee Wroble took home first in the Javelin and went #5 all time, Paisley Tucker vaulted 10-06 to go #5 all time. The Bomber girls took 3rd while the boys took 4th at the prestigious Pasco Invite.

4/12/23 - MCC #1 - at Pasco
Sunny with a cool head wind. Running times were a bit hampered by the breeze and cool conditions. Still, several PR's and Bailee Wroble continues to climb the all time javelin list with anothter nice PR. Boys High hurdlers place top nine in the meet.

Don Holdere Relays - Eisenhower HS - Yakima - 4/1/23 - Breezy and chilly with some sun breaks.
School Record Watch - Keenan Kuntz ran a 10.56 100m and we are in the process to verify a school record. This was his first 100m of the season and if the record stands he will have broken Carl Fite's record set in 1984. His record of 10.5 was converted to hand time because that was the practice back in the day before automatic timing. Given this was Keenan's first 100m of the season there are probably faster times coming (stay posted). Also freshman Naly Khamlue-Pratt went 12.60 to become number 6 all-time. The girls team finished first and the boys third to become the team combination winners. Good day for Bomber Track and Field.
